Sam Spendla

Sam's first competition was UK Championship 2015. Since then, he became a Delegate in 2018, is a current member of the WCA Sports Organisation Team, and has worked on the WCA Quality Assurance Committee, WCA Data Protection Committee and WCA Results Team previously. He was also the inaugural Region Delegate for the UK & Ireland.

Hex’s first competition was in 2022, and he was made a Delegate just a year later. Around that time he joined the WCA Results Team but currently holds a role as a Senior Member of the WCA Regulations Committee and in May 2026 he also joined the WCA Board of Directors.

AJ’s first competition was in 2015 and since then he has attended a UK record of 300+ competitions across 24 countries! AJ first organised a competition in 2017 and has been involved in volunteering and organising ever since. In late 2023 he also joined the Delegate ranks.

Ben Ridley

Ben has been competing since 2016 and is notable for his skills in blindfolded solving, as well as his National Records in the discontinued event 3x3x3 with feet. Ben made a welcome return to regular competitions in 2023, and was appointed as a Delegate.

James has been competing since 2017 and began his journey as a Delegate in late 2023. For those of you who love a fun fact, James is the first and only UK competitor to have competed in Malta and even managed to gain a podium finish in the process!

Rich Casey

Rich began competing in early 2023 and became involved in volunteering at UKCA competitions, and became a Delegate the same year! He has also worked in the WCA Integrity Committee and was the first UK cuber to have competed in Sri Lanka.

Tyler Gatenby

Tyler can often be found at UKCA competitions, whether competing or not! Known for her cheerful Geordie disposition and frequent help at competitions, she joined the UKCA as part of the Volunteer Team and has since become a Delegate.

Charlie Butler

Charlie’s first competition was at the 2022 UK Championship. The former Secretary of University of Warwick’s cubing society joined our General Volunteer Team to help out the UKCA, and in 2026 become a Delegate too.

A well-known member of the Scottish community who started competing in 2024 and quickly become a dependable contributor at competitions across Scotland and Northern England. Gordon joined the Delegate team in 2026.
Jake Brown

Jake’s first competition was in 2020, and since then they have become a talented all-rounder with impressive results in many events. Formerly an Oxford student, Jake was a UKCA volunteer before becoming a Delegate in 2026, and remains a talented solver.
James Parker

James began competing in 2023 and was the person who found our new UK Championship venue. Joining the Delegate team in 2026, James will help us restore Delegate coverage in the West Midlands.
Mairi Rigg

Mairi furthered a Rigg family tradition by joining Gordon for her first competition in 2025. Quickly becoming known for her helpfulness, and often winning the Rigg Cubing Battle against Gordon, she was welcomed into the Delegate team in 2026.
